WEDDING INFORMATION

Weddings at Prairie Lakes Church

Congratulations! You have found the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. While we believe accepting Jesus as your Savior is the most important, life-changing decision you make, choosing the person whom you will marry closely follows. Because God has ordained the marriage covenant to exist between one man, one woman and Himself, Prairie Lakes Church will only recognize and solemnize marriages between a biological man and a biological woman. We look forward to walking alongside you to help you prepare for a God-honoring, love-filled marriage that will last a lifetime.

All Applications

  • Once you have settled on a date, complete the online application.
  • Senior Pastor John Fuller is unavailable to officiate weddings, but we have several licensed pastors on staff and can accommodate visiting pastors, provided proof of credentials is submitted to the church at least one month before your ceremony.
  • If a visiting pastor officiates, a Prairie Lakes Church pastor will need to approve him/her to perform your ceremony in our facility.
  • Subject to approval, our pastors can perform weddings off-site [not at a Prairie Lakes Church Campus]. Weddings performed outside a 15-mile radius of a pastor’s home campus will be subject to a travel fee.

Premarital Mentoring

  • Plan for success. We provide comprehensive preparation as you begin your marriage consisting of four-six, two-hour sessions.
  • Meet with your mentor couple. We are blessed to have qualified mentor couples trained to support and encourage engaged couples.  You will be matched with a mentor couple based on common interests, vocations and life experiences. Mentor couples will help you develop good communication and conflict resolution skills, which will be put into practice as you discuss various marital issues.
  • Discuss everything. You will spend time together talking and learning about faith, communication, conflict resolution, finances, sex, gender differences, roles, expectations, and goal setting. Mentor couples draw upon rich, personal, marital experiences to answer questions from both male and female perspectives.
  • Use the best tools available. You will complete PREPARE and personality inventories which identify your strengths as well as a third assessment to help you discover your primary love languages.

Pastors

You'll meet with your pastor 1-2 times before the ceremony. He or she will help you create a ceremony that keeps God at its center and allows your personalities to shine!
