During Worship Services
Wee Kids helps young children discover God. At Prairie Lakes Church, your preschooler will learn God loves them, God made them, and He wants to be their friend forever. Your child will experience this in a setting that is inviting, safe and secure. The nursery accommodates your children birth through age two, and the preschool provides relevant programming for your children age three until they enter kindergarten. Parent Cues, which outline the monthly memory verse, basic truth, bottom line and Bible stories, are sent home at the beginning of each month and include activity ideas for you to use at home to reinforce the truths children learn on the weekends. Parent Cues are also available on the Family Ministry Blog.
During Worship Services
Kidventure is designed to point kindergarten through fifth grade children to God in a fun and safe environment. We are intentional about teaching your children that they need to make wise choices, they can trust God no matter what, and they should treat others the way they want to be treated. In large group, children worship through music, learn a monthly life app and through video explore a weekly Bible story. Small groups help your child put these life apps into everyday practice. Parent Cue sheets, with Bible verses, discussion questions, and activity ideas for use at home, are handed out each weekend to help you reinforce the truths children learn in Kidventure. Parent Cue sheets are also available on the Family Ministry Blog.
FX (FAMILY EXPERIENCE)
Cedar Falls Campus, Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
FX is a weekly, fast, zany, 60-minute live multimedia, kid-focused, parent-centered, life app-driven extravaganza incorporating drama, games, music and dance. This shared experience equips parents to help their kids through fifth grade grow in faith and character as it reinforces the life apps they learn in our weekend programming.
Several times throughout the year
Child Dedication is an opportunity to celebrate a young child and dedicate yourself as parents to “train up” your child in a way that will honor God. Child Dedication is more than an event. It is an opportunity for you to take some time at the beginning of your journey as a parent to really think about what will matter the most in the life of your child, to decide what you value and what you can do today to have the greatest impact on your child's future.
